duckling with no tail.

Just yesterday I noticed this week or so old (roughly) duckling of mine has no tail. Thoughts? i will try to add pics later

I have no clue about ducks, just wanted to comment on photos. First off OMG how cuute they are, photo 1 seems like he is looking for his tail also. Enjoy your babies.

Ha. I don't know, but one of my muscovy likes to pick feathers out of the other muscovies tails and so I sometimes have tail-less muscovy.

this ones bio mother likes to do that so i guess they adapted

I have Muscovy chicks 1week old and I have one without a tail as well. Maybe it's a Muscovy thing? The tailless chick is just as fast and spunky as the rest.

Very interesting! I hatch out a few hundred ducklings every year and I've never seen that. But watch, now that I said it, it's gonna happen.
