Ducklings and Bugs

Are there any types of bugs Ducks shouldn’t eat?

Took my ducklings outside today and there were little bugs in their water. They were obviously so happy with their treat.

But then... a huge spider, I mean, HUGE, spider started crawling on one of my ducklings. The other duckling came to her rescue and ate it off of her. Boy was I terrified... don’t know what kind it was, but so much bigger than their bill lol

I’m worried that one day they’ll eat something that can end up hurting them.

I have had ducks for years, and have yet to have one (including ducklings) become ill from eating whatever bug they can get their bills on. I'd be concerned about a mouth sting if they tried to gobble up a bee (and would also hate if they ate a pollinator, anyway), but otherwise, they seem to know which crawlies they can eat. This thread may also help.
