Ducklings and bugs

So I currently have 6 runner ducks that will be one month old later this week. They are currently on a non-medicated poultry mash and they are growing and doing great. My question is, at what age can they be slowly introduced to eating bugs and grass? My end goal is to try to run them in the garden under supervision and house them out back in my 2 acre pasture with a pond. I really don't want to have to feed them all the time and hope they will grow into be mostly foragers keeping the bugs down.

I also have a breeding pair of Chinese geese that are 2 weeks old tomorrow and kinda hope they will do the same. Please help. Thanks.

With supervision or really well secured areas, they'd be fine to now if your weather is stable. I have my 3wk old calls outside for a bit each day but i guard them closely, and have them penned.
