Very cute ducklings! I've never heard of brown Swedes? Did you mink proof your duck pen? It would be a shame if it came back and got these too.

The duck pen is getting mink proofed the next few weeks but the mink won't be any trouble anymore for it is dead. I don't know about the brown one but it's suppose to be a swede.

Swedish are not meant to be brown. Two of my ducks were exactly that colour brown as ducklings even though they hatched from Swedish parents. They have stayed brown - they are now dark chocolate in colour, almost black but not quite. One does not have a bib. Both of them have a clear mallard pattern under their wings. I'd say that both mine and yours are the result of some recessive genes popping out. However they are very beautiful, healthy, glossy, active, happy birds and I'm absolutely sure that yours will be too

Some people love my chocolate brown ones much more than the 'proper' Swedish
