We have 11 muscovy ducklings, and I am just more and more in love with this breed the more I know them.
I was worried about the drake hurting the babies- nope - daddy drake takes the babies with him to the pool for a swim, and stays close tending the babies with the mamas. And the mamas- one mom I can tell what three ducklings are hers, she is feircely protective and stays to herself with her babies. But then there are two other hens who are sharing four babies, I have no idea whose babies they actually are- but both mommies are sharing the work.
Then I have a Domenic chicken hen who just hatched out four muscovy babies.
