Hello! Another post but I’m trying to really learn as much about ducklings as I can. I’m loving them a lot and trying to give them attention to make sure they’re nice and friendly. When I hold them they don’t love it but calm down and bite the skin on my hands a lot. They don’t bite hard but they do it almost the entire time I hold them. Does that mean they’re uncomfortable/mad or is it more playful?

I think it's like a 'grooming' thing. my ducks do that when i rub their face and they very much seem content and enjoy it, so i assume it's just them trying to 'groom' you back
Thank you. I’m really hoping it’s something along those lines. I’ll keep giving them loves and hope they’re grooming me back lol

Mine like to explore my hands as much as possible, I think because I often feed them by hand. Lol. They inspect everything with their bill so it makes sense they would be “feeling out” your hands. Watch them drilling in the mud for goodies. And sure; maybe they’re grooming us! Who knows. :) On the flip side, I had one little duckling that was bonkers, and would truly bite, not nibble and test and taste. She would bite like a snapping turtle (or a goose!) and hang on when she didn’t want you to touch her or pick her up or go near the food dishes or whatever. She was awful. 🤷🏼‍♀️
