Hi everyone! I’m a backyard bird lover new to BYC and would like your urgent advice.
2 out of our 10 newly(12 hours) hatched Indian runner ducklings have problems. The first one has one knobbly knee and twisted foot, it can’t straighten its leg or stand up. It seems to be in pain when I gently pull his leg so I didn’t dare to do anything more.
The second one has both its neck and one foot twisted and can’t get up at all, it can only lay on its back and can’t even sit up.
Please kindly advice on what I can do?
Thanks!

Welcome to BYC. Is a vet an option?
The vets in my area don’t treat poultry this young, we might have a shot at another vet who is an hour away but it’s EOB now and we would need to wait till tomorrow morning GMT. Any help before that would be much appreciated!

wry neck possibly with the other one. Let me get some info for you on wry neck and making a shoe fr this one.
This will show you how to tape feet to hold in the proper position.

Thank you so much Lydia! I have made a shoe for the first one, but the leg can’t go any straighter than 45 degrees, the hock is hard and can’t be bent I’m not sure if it’s dislocated or something else but it’s twice the size compared to the other hock.

Can you get a really good picture? If you can get the duckling to a vet for examination that would be a good idea. If it's a slipped Tendon it needs to be fixed ASAP.

My duckling, Pekin, was hatched with a twisted foot, I made a splint out of 4 cocktail sticks, taped together, flat, and with the points cut off,! To its manipulated straight leg, it was on for 24hours, it now stands straight and walks normally. However yesterday I noticed she is closing 1 eye, any help please ?
