Ducklings Down/plume not fluffed.... ????

erm, so i posted yesterday about one of our ducklings needed help hatching because his neck was stuck in the egg and he wasnt doing anything for hours. I expected the ducklings feathers (down or plumage whichever) to fluff but its not.... im really confused because the first one that we did hatch fluffed up and was fluffy after like 12 hours :/

here is a picture of the two the one with the least fluff is the one im concerned about. is there anything i can do for him or will this little problem sort itself out?
also the fluffy one is pecking at the little one..... what do i do there?
any help is greatly appreciated.

Heat and dryness best you can do, well that's what I do. NO drafts as these might kill the duckling. The other duck is most likely just being inquisitive. Maybe even keep it clean from bedding. My 1st this hatch decided my finger was good to chew on. The less messing with them the better.
It looks like you have introduced the ducklings to food/water. I spread some on a surface (Paper towel) and make sure they get interest in it. After 1st day they generally learn whats in the dish. And how to get to it. If not I use my finger to show them. Just mess with it enough until 1 decides to try pecking it. This also gets curious ducks/chicks to stop pecking brood mates I have noticed.

well i have been showing the 2 day old duckling the food and hes been eating it the other one hasnt shown much interest in it yet but that okay hes a bit slow i guess. I just was wondering if i can give him a good wash as long as he stays warm you know. but im not sure. I dont want to get him sick hes a bit small :/

I never have, but I read somewhere people do, and towel dry. I am more of a natural guy though. I always fear I will do more harm than good, so I leave things to nature. When he feels up to it he should catch on with the other.
