Ducklings dying and don’t know what to do!

I live in Miami Fl in a residencial neighborhood, I’m near a lake and there are lots of muskovey ducks that are hatching and there a lot of them that are dying. The ones that I see that is struggling and cannot keep up with mom I bring inside my house to try and help them but so far I have not had any luck. I be lost all of them and it’s so sad to see them give up and die. Now the problem is also that it’s getting to be so hot that I’m concerned for the little ones and don’t know what to do. Can appreciate any advise thank you
Hi there. I think its great that you are trying to help these ducklings - we all know how hard it is to watch young animals die and wonder if we could have done more or different. :hugs

Can I ask what if anything you are giving them to eat and / or drink ?

And do you know what sort of temp you are keeping them at ?

I feed them starter feed for ducks non-medicated and I give them water with vitamins (B12 complex) and a little sugar for energy

I think those are the right things - are they under a heatlamp ? And is the water given to them not cold ?

We introduced a new stud duck this year and he clearly has some not great genes - a lot of his offspring died in the shell or within a couple of weeks of coming out, esp when with his mating partner.

There may be something more going on with where you are or it might be crappy genetics - you can only do what you can.

You said it's hot where you are and so you might not be using a heat lamp but to be sure the ducks are help at the right temps, can you put a thermometer in the brooder with them? They should be kept at about 95 the first week and drop like 5 degrees in temp for every week. It's not super bad to have them +/- a few degrees but if they're like 10 or more degrees lower than they should be that would explain the lethargy and death.
