garage is a little below room temperature so I thought they'd be cold but fortunately are out a lot. They have 2 brooder plates that they go under a random timesI don't have Ducks, but I'd clean it off. Give their bums a little wash up under warm running water.
Dry well so they don't get chilled.
How warm is your brooder? Do they have plenty of cool areas to get away from the heat?
You can dry them with a hair dryer if you have one.garage is a little below room temperature so I thought they'd be cold but fortunately are out a lot. They have 2 brooder plates that they go under a random times
ok thanks!!You can dry them with a hair dryer if you have one.
Brooder plates are good to have, sounds like you are having fun with your Ducklings.
I haven't let them swim yet. they are 4 days old today. are they too young? would something like a paint tray work as a pool for them?Do you let them swim? Every time I’ve raised ducklings I’d fill the tub with warm water and let them have at it. When they’re real little I have it shallow enough to where they can stand on the one side, and if they are confident enough venture to “the deep end”. This was an every day routine and I’d chop up fresh greens and let them float around as well. My sister in law never did this with her ducklings and when first introduced to a pond, were scared of it and didn’t know how to swim.
