It will be 53 and rainy today. My ducklings have been outside and free every day it is sunny and at night I herd them to their pen on the patio. This morning they are calling me and standing at the door. I don't know if I should let them out to play or not. They can always go back into their pen and warm up under the lamp...What do you think?
They are feathering really fast! My babies are growing up...

Beautiful ducklings you have there! Altho they do appear to be growing a few feathers they might still get chilled 'specially if it is on the cool side and rainy. Might not hurt them to venture out for a short while if you put them back under the lamp to dry off. Until they are fully feathered they won't shed water like grown ducks do but will just get soaked to the skin.

The pic was a few days ago and I'm just amazed at how fast they are developing. I let them out because I had to clean their pen and the rain stopped (mostly). I'm glad I did because right now they are having a blast playing in mud and eating snails...Now I'm worried the chickens will go in the duck pen to get warm under the heat lamp (chickens are such chickens, when it comes to rain

) I hope they will go back in on their own if the rain picks up again.
