Ducklings with Duck hepatitis? Vet-free treatment?!

I believe it’s alpine. I try my hardest to keep it dry as can be but they are water messy
What, like this?

3B4CBF3F-AFA3-4D7F-9557-5BFC42D19B05.jpeg I actually was thinking about puppy pads but spaced it when I ran to tractor supply this morning.

Good to know about the b complex. I'll look the next time I go to tractor supply.. it'll be between today (second two of the day) and this weekend (we need more straw and alfalfa for the goats).

The ducklings are rapidly outgrowing the dog crate brooder they're currently in. So my husband is working on converting what we were building as a chicken coop in the barn into a duck coop. That way they're not close to the adult ducks and can't spread whatever they have over to them but they're still in a heated area that they can make a mess of and we can easily clean. And they'll have a lot more room which will hopefully mean I won't have to replace their bedding daily.

Speaking of bedding.. Being that the ducklings are a bit older now (the youngest is about 3 weeks. Oldest is about 5 weeks. Most of them are getting their white feathers-they're pekins. Or so I was told. Tho half of them and their mom have a pink beak) when we move them to the new space in the barn would a mixture of the woodchips and chopped straw be ok as bedding? The older ducks use just the straw.

The attached pic is the wood chips we have. It's Aspen. Sorry I was mistaken thinking Alpine. I got the A right lol

Pics of this please?
I didn't get pics of the one who died. But the other youngest one who's feet were also kinda funky look a lot better now. This is what they look like now.

Everyone's hanging out in the kitchen while I clean the brooder. The pic attached of the foot is the little guy up front on the right in the pic of them all

I have always used hay, mostly because it's free! I know some people say not to use it but I go into their pen every morning and put my garden fork carefully under the flattened poo pancakes and throw them into the duck yard. I try to get as little good clean hay as possible when I do this but I just keep replenishing the hay which is called deep liter. No flies and it's dry, warm and good for them so far. I've not had any problems at all.

Hi, all. We had a very similar sudden death with an ancona duckling today and I'm following up to see what happened to the original poster's flock? We're very alarmed. Did you lose more ducklings, @JillZaHulk ?

Did the duckling exhibit any noticeable symptoms prior to death? How old are they, and where did you acquire them from?
