Ducklings

So right now I have two ducklings with more to hatch. The mama took them out of the coop today. She seems to be protective. I'm worried about the other ducks getting them. They have a nice coop to go into if mama will lead them there. Should I leave them with mama or take them and put them in a container?

@DuckMama1181 How did it go with mom and ducklings yesterday? I usually keep my new mamas and ducklings separated but where all can see them so they are protected but everyone can get use to the new additions.

I think the are good mammas. I just checked on then and they are back in the coop sitting on their nest. The ducklings are tucked in behind them. Thank you

Just make sure the ducklings don't start wandering off that is when they are vulnerable.

Thank you. I know. It makes me nervous. My ducks are fenced in, but it's a big area.

I'd put feed and water close so the ducklings don't have to venture far. Also if there is a way to fence off mama and babes for about a week that way the ducklings have a good chance of getting their legs under them better and everyone has a chance to meet and greet.

I do have food and water for the ducklings in the coop. I could separate them. I might. Thank you.
