Thanks for all the advice. We are re-thinking that plan. I have large branches across the top of the inside of my coop which is where the Muscovys spend the night. If Silkies also like to roost that would be an additional problem. Just happen to have a small empty shed. Maybe I can add a run and keep Silkies in there. Right now Silkies live in a spare room in the house. I know, crazy, but I was forewarned about how addictive this whole poultry thing is. There will be snow and freezing temperatures here for several months yet so I have time to plan.
