Ok, we have some experience with chickens, and thinking we want a couple of ducks. :) ( I just love ducks!!!)

My questions is if I get a new batch of chicks and a few ducks at the same time... has anyone housed ducks and chickens together?
Will they fight? get along?
Any ideas, thoughts or experiences I would appreciate!
Thanks

Adult ducks and chickens can get along if given enough room. Ducks are a lot messier though. For instance, I would not keep the ducks in the same brooder as chicks because they make the brooder bedding too wet for chicks. Those ducklings love to dabble in their water and get everything wet, which could give the smaller chicks a chill.

When I first got my chicks and ducks I keep them together for the first week. The ducks were constantly making a mess of the pen. Now they're separated but can still see each other. Much easier to keep things clean this way.

I brood ducklings and chicks together, and my older ducks and chickens share the same coop and yard. They will get along great as long as they have space. Ducks are 10 times messier than chickens, and the brooder will be a lot messier with ducks in it, but if you raise them on wire in the brooder, waste will fall through the wire to the bottom and there won't be as much mess.
