Ducks and diatomaceous earth

So, I work at TSC, and we got some "Zen Coop" by Manna Pro in. It's a dust, I saw "lemongrass" and "eucalyptus" and thought "hooray, some nice aromatherapy for the ducks and myself" and then realized it had diatomaceous earth in it. :hmm Is that okay for my little bantams?
DE is safe and effective for treating parasites. It is also good for them to digest. It is dangerous though if they breathe in the dust so you want to be very, very careful and make sure they're not in a cloud of dust because the way it works is it's like mini shards of glass that cut the exoskeleton of things like lice, fleas mites, whatever and then they die. But You can also do these same thing to the inside of your bird's lungs. I would put it into some kind of syringe or something and you can also mix it with some dry sand or dirt and then try to apply it very close to the skin instead of just like sprinkling it on top of your bird.
Safer than insecticides or any kind of TOXIC chemical. Things like that either soak through the animal's skin for our injected and basically you are therefore poisoning your animal as well as the parasites on them It's terrible that people do that and don't know or understand how that works
