Ducks and Dog

Great pics! I have a black lab just for duck hunting. But believe it or not they dont care nothing about our pet ducks here at the house. One time one of our mallards got out that we were going to eat for dinner.(yes I have pet ducks and ducks for eggs and for eating)Sorry If anyones offended. Anyway my dog saw it . Nothing. that is until I said the magic words "Fetch it up" Only then did he grab it and bring it to me. But what was unusual was he did it real gently like he knew it was somehow different. Love it or hate it . I sure didnt expect the way he treated that bird. They are smart dogs. My wifes lab is like your dog. You can put a duck next to her and she will wag her tail and think oh look a friend

Our big English lab, Madi, will chase anything with wings!! But she could care less about our 4 Pekins!!! They actually enjoy chasing her & sitting by her whenever she's outside!! She could easily destroy them with her big paws & teeth, but doesn't "?" See my picture of Madi & Daffy & Affy

We don't have ducklings in the house right now but we do have chick TV. Last year when we did have a duckling running around inside our home our dogs just though he was one of the pack. He still does. Lol

Love it! Our doxies are obsessed with Mildred (who is currently residing in the house). They used to try to eat the ducks, but as of late, Ciscoe (my Magpie drake - who takes after me when I disturb "his girls") has started taking after the dogs if they are in the vicinity. Only took one such incident for Sherman (dapple black and tan) to become terrified of all the ducks where he previous was a "badger hunter". He's been put in his place! Dog's still like to watch the "duck cam" though.

My ducks love to pop the dogs on the butt, but my goose did it one to many times and my mix breed grabbed a hold of his chest feathers and left a nice size hole in his chest. so I have to really watch now, I don't want that to happen again or worse.

My Dachshunds are learning the hard way not to mess with the house goose or house duck, too!

so cute. I had a duck and dog that were best friends before. They would even run and play together. I think the duck bite harder because the duck would get made an nip the dog an it would run...hilarious
