ducks and feathers...again

not sure about all the shedding of feathers from my cayugas...it's like down is everywhere!
They are about 11 weeks old...is this normal?

Completely. Ducks grow quickly, which means they outgrow their feathers quickly. They normally go through 2 or 3 sets of juvenile feathers before getting their adult feathers.

thank you so much! I feel so much better! It was windy out this evening when I was trying to wrangle them into their kennel and there were so many down-like feathers blowing around and it was scary when I saw so many of them blowing around but then my dog helped me feel better when she started chasing them (the feathers) in the wind. My ducks HATE to go back into their kennel at night and my dog has been a big help because she stands at one end of the fence and barks to help get them going into the gate. It can be comical at times, I'm walking behind them as they are heading towards the gate, the dog is barking and sometimes it takes 3 or more trips around the whole thing before they go in!
