Ducks and gardens??????

My ducks destroyed my garden. They trampled everything and litteraly ate all the lettuce like 10 heads of it for three of them. they did eat the slugs but also everything else. I tried putting up wire to protect it but they ended up getting their heads caught in it so make sure the holes are small enough. You would be surprised what they can get their heads caught in.

After the season was over I opened up my garden and they destroyed it in a day. It isn't very big but didn't stand a chance with my pekins. They stripped off all the leaves on my bell peppers and tomato plants. There was no fruit but they love tomatoes so I'm sure if there were any they would of been eaten as well. They didn't touch my blue berry plants, green onions, Rosemary, thyme or my citronella. Oh they did eat all my basil though, but I think they got board and went for it. They had tasted it a few times but never did damage until last month. I use plastic fencing for mine. Keeps out the kids, dogs and ducks.
