Ducks and Mites?

Can ducks have lice and do they need to be dusted? Also how would one go about dusting a bird? Also what if the bird accidentaly eats it, after cleaning itself or something.

I have a crippled duck who occasionally gets some bugs. I give her a good long bath in the tub and when she is completely dry, I powder her where she can't reach and especially the base of the neck and work the powder in good.

I have only had to do this 2 or 3 times in 4 years.
