My three ducks have stopped using their pool. Does anyone know why they would do this?

I dont know. Does it need to be cleaned? Although that dosent bother my ducks..little slobs..

And Welcome to BYC!

The pool is clean. And like you said the dirty pool never stopprd them before. They will run through the water from the hose as I am filling the pool but they stop at the side and run away. The two males follow the female everywhere and she just won't get in any more. I packed up the Pekin male and set him in once and he sat there for a couple seconds and then jumped out.

mine went through this "stage". I was told it was the teenage/moody stage. They still don't swim as much as they used too, but they have gotten in the pool a few times. Mine were about 12-14 weeks during their "we don't want to swim" phase...

maybe it's just their age. ducks are smart they know where their pool/water is and if they want to swim they will make an attempt to get in it. i did the whole pick them up and put them in and mine flew out too...who knows what goes through their little brains...

good luck!

Maybe they have...*ahem*...other things on their minds besides swimming...

I bet they want to *ahem* her everytime she gets in the water. She just has a headache tonight.

(psst: Just 'tween us gals, you might get them more lady friends or rehome one of the drakes. Your girl will thank you.)
