Hi! We have 4 goats currently and last year when we were running them in the pasture area we kept having problems with them getting ticks. This year we are thinking about running some sort of fowl out in the pasture with them. I figured ducks would be a good option because they are relatively quiet, but do they eat ticks? In the past we've had chickens, Guinea hens, and pheasants. We are open to any suggestions for good tick eating birds. We, however, can't have Guineas again. They are way too loud for us.

"Relatively quiet." That's a good one! :lau

My ducks are loud enough that when my neighbor was helping someone quite a few streets over and was telling them how she loved living next door to us because she loves our ducks, the person said, "Oh yeah, I know where The Duck House is."

On the other hand, I've heard that Muscovy ducks are really quiet. But they can fly, so you might have to clip their wings,

Welcome to BYC, btw!
