I got some ducks. Said ducks don't appear to like us much.

I am told they were house hatched and well handled when young.
They don't care much for the small water trough we filled, don't really eat the food on ground or in pan, they just stand around looking at each other until a human or dog wanders by. This sends them into a quackaphony.

Are they just not impressed with the new housing situation? Lol
Are they gonna come around?

Quackaphony - love that term, it's perfect! :lau
I dunno, I've only ever brought in older ducks once, my Welshies, at around 10 months old, and they were calm and friendly from day one. Like, opened the pet carrier and they were eating lettuce out my hand 2 minutes later *shrugs* May just be the breed.
I think new surroundings/things do take some getting used to. I've had ducks refuse to eat out of certain colored bowls, lol. Heck, they didn't even get in the creek for years... weirdos, lol.

When I first refilled the pool they all avoided it last year. Like it was a new thing. All I did was dump it out and refill after cleaning it. I had to put a duck into it. Even then at first it acted like I tossed it in battery acid until I tossed the peas in.
Then the others got interested.

Peas, eh? I can try that.

And then there were three. Fox managed to get one through the chain link fence. Wtf.
:'(

They will be certainly out of sorts for a bit now. They might have been aware of the predators before hand which could have been why they were acting so weird.
