Ducks aren't drinking....

So, this is a weird question. It's usually not below freezing here so this isn't a huge problem. However, we have been having a cold snap where it's been below freezing for about a week. So I got tired of dragging water from the tap inside, plus I was worried that if the water froze while I was out, they might choke so I bought a heated bowl. They refuse to drink from the heated bowl. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions so my ducks will drink from the heated bowl?

put some mealworms in the bowl......thats what i did and worked great! you know they can't resist mealworms

They might be afraid of it. Sit a regular dish next to it to check that.
Just in case, check the temperature of the water. If the heater is malfunctioning, it could be too hot.

Ducks absolutely hate change... how long has it been since they drank? Usually if you give them time, they will eventually drink rather than dehydrate...
