i have had a few ducks killed. Nice and clean, big Muscovy male just the breast eaten, looked like someone would have cut the breast meat off the bone, female had her throat beaten and nothing else. I just caught a coon in a trap by the duck cage, has anyone ever heard of a coon doing any thing like this, are have any idea what would have killed them this way.

Thanks for any help

I am 99% sure it was not the raccoon. I have see what they do and its not pretty. They indiscriminately EAT ALL OF IT. Just a few scraps left. is any. They usually carry it away if possible. They don't eat the feathers. That's all that's usually left. Give this some thought. Could the predator possibly be a 2 legged homo sapien ???

There are no shortages of wackos.

Your description sounds more like a two leg predator not a four leg. Coons will, as mentioned, try to carry their prey off or just kill and leave the feathers, corpse would be missing. Fox will kill and carry off the whole animal. Only predator I know that would only take the breast is a two legs.

It does sound crazy but I am telling you the male was on his back and all the breast meat was gone, the bone was cleaner than I clean them when I eat the breast meat and it looked like the female would have had her throat cut. I wish I would have taken pictures. They were in a fenced in pin with an electric wire running a few inches off the ground and one right at the top of the fence. There were a couple of branches hanging over that something might have used to get in. I have removed these and covered a section about 15 x 20 of the pin and that is where they are spending most of there time now. I am just trying to figure out what I am fighting against.

Thanks for all thr help

I had the exact same experience with a raccoon.

The hen was on her back. The head, wings, legs look like they had been staged the way they laid.

The breast meat was eaten to the bone and licked clean from the back bone.

The devil killed like 6 other hens that night and blinded one in one eye. It was my fault I thought I shut the pop door but obviously didn't,

I set the hav-a-hart trap the next night with bacon and caught one of the biggest coons I've ever seen.
