My four ducks have been super healthy until last week one died. The day before they were all super healthy looking and acting normal. I was super sad and confused because they are outdoor ducks and can survive the winter. We added extra hay to keep there cage warm and prevented as much draft as we could from getting in. Then today another duck died, both Khaki Campbells if that helps. My other two are Pekin. Now I'm super confused because if it was a disease I feel like they all would have died closer to the first ones death. Any ideas of what it could be? And if my other two are going to live?

Contact your state lab and ask about having a necropsy done:
New Jersey Department of Agriculture
Division of Animal Health ‐ Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory,
NJPHEAL 3 Schwarzkopf Drive
Ewing, New Jersey
08628
Phone: 609‐406‐6999

This is how I send mine:

Thanks but do you think it will cost a ton I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a test to see if the duck had a disease. Also if they had a disease, my others might be dead by the time I get the results back. But if they don't cost much I'm willing to do it so I have an answer to what happened to know for next time.

Call them and ask. Some states are free, some have a small fee. Most labs will have a preliminary report done the day they receive the bird. If no obvious cause of death is seen they will send samples off for testing.

If the necropsy is too expensive, explain to your financial situation and see if maybe they will waive the fee.

You other choice is to try a necropsy yourself and post pictures here.
