Ducks "finding" pond?

We are incubating eggs (that will hopefully hatch!). We plan to let them free range during the day, they will have a fenced pen, and will be locked in the coop at night. they will have a kiddie pool for them to splash in. My question is, our neighbor about 2/10 of a mile away has a horse pasture with a pond. How far will ducks wander? Are they going to find his pond? Thanks.

I suspect that this will depend on breed. My campbells dont go that far, nor do my friends pekins. What breed are they?
