This year the ticks on our property have been insanely bad. We usually use guinea fowl for tick control, but we'd like to phase them out. They're hard to call in at night and are apparently very tasty to the local wildlife. Our 7 Swedish ducks, on the other hand, basically free range the same area as the guinea fowl, but they line up to be let into their duck house at night so they're much less work for us. My question is, do you think the ducks could handle ticks without guinea fowl to help them out? We have six ducklings born last month and I'm wondering if it's realistic to keep more ducks for tick control.
