thinking about getting some ducks from metzer farms. anybody have any bad experinces if them. never ordered from them.

Nope, no bad experience from my dealings with them.
I ordered 3 runners - 1 blue, 1 chocolate, 1 fawn and white
I received - 1 fawn and white, 1 chocolate and 1 not quite blue. She's silver (white with a blue bill and feet/legs that are more orange now than the fawn and white legs).
I didn't care, but emailed them to figure out what the heck I had. They said said I ordered a blue, even though I didn't care I ended up with a not blue, they'd be happy to send me a replacement (and a 2nd duck so they could ship it). I declined at the time, so there is a note on my account that I'm due a blue duck if I want it.

I had my little order shipped in the heat of the summer to southern AL where temps were in the high 90s and toasty at night still. I had them include the little green gel goop for the ride and they arrived happy and healthy.

I have six runners from them... all great.... when one died shortly after receiving them, they replaced it with two more. I recommend paying the extra for the grow gel, just in case it takes a little longer than expected.

Amazing place. I have never heard anything bad about them. We got our ducks as well as hatching eggs from them and they ave robust healthy animals as well as wonderful customer service (the owner, John Metzer is literally eager to help)

I ordered a trio of Welsh harlequin ducklings and a pair of Cayuga ducklings.. they were hatched on a monday and arrived a Post office about 6:30 in the mornning on Wedensday... I had the grow gell stuff put in also.. This was may of 2008.. They arrived healthy and happy..

Its a really good place to get ducklings from! In february I'm getting 2 female Pekin ducklings from them, you should also pay for GroGel. I bought a book from them, and it arrived on time, in good condition. I highly recommend them! Have fun with your duckies!

I've read up on them and am considering ordering too. I have a female mallard-like duck who lost her pal. I hope to get two of the Cayuga (one male and one female) to be friends with her when they start hatching out.

My duck is doing okay with the chickens for now.
