Ducks in Chile.. QUESTIONS

Things are going good. Many new feathers.

Review:
We got the ducks on Jan 12. I think were 3 to 5 weeks old when we got them.

So they are 7 weeks old approx- We have been feeding them a good mix of organic animal food mixed with cracked wheat and water around 300 grams per day. They also get lots of forage time - 2 or 3 times per day- I grew wheat-grass and they do not like it! They like slurping muddy water better- tried sprinkle it there.. what about in their house at night?

Ok so -
1. What should they be fed- pellets or the mix ?
2. Pond advise (see pics below)

If they're all thriving off of the mix, I would keep them on that for a bit. Are they getting a good amount of niacin in their diet too? As far as a pond goes, not necessary to have but the ducks enjoy it. An easy thing to do would be get a kiddie pool or rubber trough for them to splash around in. You could also dig a hole in the ground and sink the kiddie pool or trough into the ground, that just might make it hard to dump the water all out if you ever wanted to for cleaning.

My Runners love their pools that is where they have the most fun But if your going to have hundreds of Runners that would be a lot of pools. lol

Oh and can I make a suggestion before you go out and buy more, talk to your neighbors who have vineyards and fields and see if they are interested in having Runners working their fields . That way your not over whelmed if they aren't interested.
