Ducks in hatcher

Yesterday I moved my Pekin/Runner Duck eggs to the hatcher, but today they are hatching! I set them on April 26, so I was not expecting them until this Sunday. How did I get off?

i have had ducks pop early and late. a question very similar to this was asked earlier today.

Wifezilla and myself agreed that they can take up to three days to hatch so not abnormal.

also, if your bator was running a little hot, things can pop early.

Yeah, I think it has to do with temperatures (too hot = early hatch, or too cold = late hatch). They should pip the shell up to 2 days before your scheduled hatch date, so you are probably just a little bit ahead of schedule.

I have one new question/concern.... I noticed one's bill was not moving, so I cracked it open, and the little one had died!

Why would that happen?

Sorry, I am not used to hatching Ducks, at all!
