Ducks in pool/chlorine

So the Mama duck & duckling have been in the pool for 2 weeks and I haven’t put any chlorine to clean the pool as I’ve read it can damage their kidneys ect.

However the pool is now quite green & I worry about them drinking the water that they are pooping in?
It’s only a small pool about 9m by 4m
