I love this thread! Now I know what to do with all my lavender that I don't cut and use. Do you just use the head of the lavender and cut off the stems? I know what I am doing tomorrow after work.

Just curious but don't your birds eat your lavender? Mine eat the flowers off before they even get a chance to grow much, I have to buy any lavender I want to use as there's never any left to cut from my own plants lol

Lavender is soothing to ducks - they seem to calm down and like the smell. At least mine did, I'd put on lavender lotion before bed and they'd climb up and snuggle in. Fancy before he became my cuddlebug, would ignore the pillow ramp if I'd forget to put the lotion on, but if he smelt it, he'd clamor up and snuggle in when he thought I was sleeping.

What kind of lavender plants are ya'll using? I'm def gonna put some in my Dandy's box.

I'm planting English lavender in Fancy's Last stand box - hope it takes - I have it screened off against the dogs cause they kept digging in it, funny thing though - they digged all around him and didn't dig him up.
