Disclaimer - these are “wild” ducks that frequent our house. We’ve only been here about five months. The former owners of our house fed the ducks, so we feed them too. Our house is on a small lake.
We have a group of about 20 ducks that hang around our house. Lately, the white ones (the female Indian Runner, male Pekin and, I believe, female call duck) have looked horrible and gotten progressively worse. All of the mallards appear fine, aside from one female who has a spot by her eye. Are the ducks beating each other up? Getting attacked by something? Do they have some sort of infection from the water? Is this somehow normal? I have no idea what’s going on here or if there’s even anything I can do for them. It’s heartbreaking that they look this bad.
