Ducks moving into feed and cherping for treats!

Hey guys! Any tips for me to make them more comfortable with their new feed? They've tried it and backed off after a nibble and quacks for thier treats instead. Before I got proper feed for them, I'd feed them rice and lettuce like all the time which caused them to have nutrients deficiency. I feel terrible and now even more because they have to adapt to new food which they possibly not like.

Ducks like routine. It’s like if you fed a toddler MsDonalds it’s whole life. It’s probably going to squawk at the healthy food. Don’t give in. They will eat it when they are hungry. You are doing great!

Add water and soupy too.. provide a dry bowl too. Ducks won't starve themselves.......

Don’t feel bad for making them eat food they don’t like. They eat their own poop! So their taste buds are a little jacked up anyways.

Do a warm very soupy mash with it. Keep treats out of it then after a couple of days when they start eating you can do what I do and put peas and finely cut up broccoli and spinach at the bottom for them to find every few days. Now they dive into it looking for that prize but I made sure that were eating the feed before I did that.

My feed just doesn’t mix up with cold water well. So I use warm. By the time it reaches the ducks it’s room temp.
