Ducks Need a Home in Columbus, Ohio

This group that posted it commonly cross-posts to and from Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. Just looked on a map and they aren't very close at all. But also saw a post this morning asking for help out here on the West Coast. Seems there is a park in Turlock California where people dump their unwanted Easter ducks. The Parks Dept is getting ready to round them up and take them to auction, which is normally a death sentence. So there are urgent pleas for help there, too.

So frustrating to see two stories about abandoned Easter ducks in less than 24 hours. Ducks are a lot of work. People should know that going in. i was surprised when i got them as i spend more time on their care and upkeep than all my other chickens, geese, goat, and cat care combined. But i wouldn't trade them for the world. They make me smile every day, even though my back patio is a poopy mess. :)

Makes me sad, angry and heart broken for all the ducklings that are dumped not to mention all the other animals that end up beside the road or in a river. If you hear anything saying these ducks got help, please let us know.

Hmm... the posting's been flagged. I was hoping to pass the link on today to several people who posted earlier this month offering to take in Easter ducklings and chicks to add to their flock. There are perhaps four such ads listed on craigslist for the Columbus area (good people!). I'm sorry to see that I missed my chance. I suppose there's a chance that one of them saw the ad before it was taken down, or that another ad will be made. I'll keep an eye out and see what I can do to help.

Here, look; there are good people around! If another post is made about those ducklings I'll try to get it into these people's hands. Marked ads are all people ready to take in Easter ducklings in the Columbus area.

Why do you suppose it was flagged? and so glad your willing to help.

i wonder why it was flagged, too. But then i've had ads flagged for no apparent reason myself.

The potential problem with people asking for free unwanted animals is their intention. There was (maybe still is) a guy in our area that is always posting asking for free animals. He keeps them in horrible conditions and turns around and sells them, or eats them. There were people for a while constantly flagging his posts, and also posting warnings to others about him. But there are good people out there, too. So i guess you just have to be careful.

i sent them an email telling them i didnt mean to.. lol

I won't even give away or sell my extra roos, because a cetain sport is very popular here and I don't want them to end up in a situation like that, We use our extras for food,. to me much more humane. I sure hope someone will take those lil babies they sure deserve better than they have now.

I would love to ! I'm getting my own ducklings this week but I live In Pennsylvania that is just so far :/ good luck in finding them a home ! They are just precious !
