Since Mildred has been in sick bay for the last week, my other two ducks have started laying their eggs all over the duck house and separately. They have always laid (all three of them) in one nest in the same spot. Does losing a buddy upset them so that they would start laying in scattered spots? They aren't even building their nest, just leaving them uncovered wherever??? They have alway built a carefully constructed nest and covered the eggs with straw before I come to collect them in the morning.

Do you collect the eggs daily or leave them?
If you are taking them, they are probably feeling that wherever they are laying isn't safe. Your sick duck may have been the first to lay in the morning and then the others followed suit.
Try leaving an egg or a fake egg where you want them to lay, should work.
