I have 5 ducks. 3 mallards. And 2 Muscovy. My female muscovy is always getting picked on by my drake muscovy and my 2 drake mallards. They’ll bite her wing and pull feathers when they get close enough to her and she runs away making a clucking noise like a chicken. Especially in the coop area. The drake is very teritorial. What options do I have other than getting rid of them?

Sounds like you have a bad balance like I do. More drakes than females. Everything i have been reading says 3 females to 1 drake. This could be part of the problem, a solution might be to re home or separate them in different areas since they are being aggressive towards her. How about your other female, how is she managing?

You can either:

  1. Dispose of your extra drakes.
  2. Get a LOT more hens. Like 20 more.
  3. Or, your best option. Start a bachelor pad, and keep your females separate from you males. ;)
Hope this helped! :)

Hello....Separate...That is the only option if you won't get rid of a couple of Drakes...That Hen is being mistreated by the Drakes..Once breeding season and hormones get higher she could possibly be injured or killed...Plus those Drakes will begin to fight..
Best of luck...
