What could cause all our eggs to fail at the last minute?
Last year we hatched 4 little ducks, we locked them down and didn’t open the incubator until we needed to help them hatch, they had a lot of trouble getting out of the eggs so we assumed it must have been too dry.
So this year, the last two times we have tried to hatch ducks we have been putting water in the incubator however they have all died at the last minute. Last month it was 6 ducklings we lost, this month it’s 12 😞
We have one beautiful little duckling that hatched on Saturday but nothing since, we had a look last night and it appears they’re all dead as we saw no movement in any of the eggs.
They have all been alive until the last few days 😞
I’m so disappointed and sad, it’s making me not want to try again.

What kind of ducks are they and what day now?

Are you sure there was no movement?

They’re Silver Appleyard ducks and they’re on day 31 now 😞
Definitely no movement in any of them.
what was the temp and humidity throughour incubation and lockdown? Did you use an automatic turner and verify it was turning them? Did you use a calibrated thermometer and hygrometer?
Were the eggs shipped, bought or from your own flock?
I'm really sorry this hatch went badly :hugs
For the single duckling, they do get lonely, a mirror in the brooder will help

I'd say it was the parent duck's nutrition, maybe needs a higher protein diet or your incubator keeps spiking so high that it kills them.
