I got my call ducks about 3 weeks ago I think. They had been laying over there but only got 1 egg since they had been here. They are healthy so thought I would give them their first day in the large pond, hoping this will help them be comfortable

Okay. I know sometimes when I got a new chicken it would sometimes take a month for them to start laying. They are just getting used to their new home still. It's normal and ok. I think my ducks took a good 5 weeks to start laying once they moved to my home from their previous home.
They are loving it. They didnt have a large container in quarantine for them to all be in at once. Really only had mostly chickens in quarantine before.i bet they love that!
My pekin was laying eggs and when i got her it took 3 weeks for her to lay again
It doesn't hurt to try and encourage them to lay where you want them to in a relatively safe spot by providing a box or house of some sort with bedding/nesting material for them. Hopefully they take to it and you don't end up with eggs at the bottom of the pond or anything!
that doesnt happen... does it?that doesnt happen... does it?
Mine *mostly* end up in their designated nesting spot, but if I don't collect as many eggs as I expect I go looking for the missing eggs and will find them in random places. I think I've only ever had one egg in the kiddie pool, fortunately, but I have found many in places other than a "nest."
