Ducks Not laying

They may lay more into the winter next year. My only duck that is laying right now is much older and was laying during the summer. I don't expect any of my other females to start laying till the spring.

My 8 early May-hatched ducks started laying the end of September, and I'm getting 4 - 7 eggs a day. It all seemed so unlikely, especially since the chickens are dropping way off. I wa wondering if ducks weren't as light-sensitive, because these aren't getting any supplemental light, and the sun rises at 7:30 am and sets at 5, so that's only 9 1/2 hours of daylight (unless twilight counts, which adds another hour, maybe).

Ducks will lay in water, especially young ducks but I do suspect your hatch will be the following spring. It is breed dependant too. As Corrie said theirs were slightly earlier hatched and started September. Again they may have a different breed as each breed can be different in production the same as breeds of chickens.
My 3 year old Muscovy has just hatched a second clutch. First spring time and now 2 days ago! That is unusual and a first for me in countless years keeping ducks.
I’d defiantly not worry at all and just wait for spring to roll on.
