ducks not laying

I have a pair of young blue ancona ducks. Where I keep them is simi shady. I have a pair of geese in the same area and they lay but the ducks are not laying. last year in the same area I had some chickens the same geese and a different pair of ducks. The chickens laid, the geese laid but the ducks did not. I thought maybe it was because the duck was over 2 years old. so I sold them.

It is now the end of March and the ancona is still not laying. Would putting a small light down at night help. We are on rented property so can not cut the trees. I have night guard lights up and they work. They are solar so there is light getting to the area. They are at the bottem of a hill with a lot of trees. there is no where else to keep the ducks .

Any suggestions.

What are you feeding them? When I want my ducks to lay early and I know they won't start on there own I feed them pelleted turkey finisher, it has high protein and jumps them into laying. Works for me every year

I am feeding them waterfowl feed and some scratch.

Raise their feed to 18% protein, with lighting at night (it can be just a smallish LED nighlight) and you should see eggs within a few days.
