I have cayuga x welsh harlequin eggs incubating today is day 18 and they are piping... why so early? Im assuming they wouldnt hatch unless they are ready but strange to me. I have bantam eggs on day 18 as well same conditions and not piping... why the eagerness from the duck eggs?

Are you sure you counted right? I've miscounted many times.

Did you harvest these hatching eggs a couple days later after being laid they might have had a kickstart in development while in a coop.

my chick were day 18 ducks were day 24 i may have panicked and got my dates confused...lol but good news everyone is popping out fine and healthy. But still early is there a reason the ducks are hatched 3/4 days early chickens in same incubator are on schedule...
