ducks - quietest to loudest

Hens...I have Khakis and Magpies. The Campbells are by far the loudest!!!

I have a 23 week old khaki campbell pair and a buff hen. The khaki's seem quiet compared to my buff. She's always out there running her mouth I always say! She's really loud!! The drake is pretty talkative and protective of his girls lately too cause one of them kinda started laying! I also have an 8 week old sweedish pair and they're really quiet!

muscovies definately the quietest.
khaki campbells almost as quiet.
pekins very loud and chatty, but entertaining!
most of my runners are very quiet, but my one chocolate runner is the LOUDEST duck I own! But also my favourite

My Appleyards don't make much noise, but when the ducks give their gather-the-clan call, they shake the rafters.

Pekins are supposed to be noisy. Mine don't make any noise at all unless I pick them up. When they call, they aren't as loud as the Appleyards.

I've got Swedish from 2 different sources. The hatchery ducks are non-stop noise and have a loud call. They never shut up. The other batch murmurs, but quietly, and only call when the flock gets separated.

If you must have quiet ducks, either get Muscovy or else get all males of the Mallard derived breeds. It's the females who are loud.
