OK so this is a new one for me, and I'm new with chickens and ducks.
We have 2 mallards (a male and a female), 2 barred rocks hens, 1 easter egger hen and 3 Rhode Island red hens.
We just went out to shut up the coop. Everyone was inside. The weird thing ... the ducks were up in the roost with the chickens??? The roost is just over 4 foot high and has a ramp going up to it. The ramp rests on a nest box with a platform at the end that is maybe a foot and a half high for the chickens to get to the ramp. The coop is an old camper, the platform is used for storage and also has a nest box sitting on it (it was where the table and bench seats were if that helps). I've never seen them up there before. AND... earlier today Quark, the female duck, was in the same nest box with Turbo, a barred rock hen. The ducks and chickens get along but they usually keep their distance from each other. I don't know how to put a picture with my post or I would show the inside of the coop. I didn't get a picture of the ducks on the roost, I didn't take the camera out with me. Is this normal or are our birds just weird?

If she was older I would give that a possibility. I didn't think to mention they are all almost 5 months old. We just started getting eggs 4 days ago by 1 of the reds.
