Ducks share egg sitting & eggs?

I have two broody ducks.They had 10 eggs in one nest and now have split the eggs dead even and each have 5 in their own nest.Now when one leaves their nest the other takes her eggs and sits on them until she comes back then seperates them again.Is this normal??

It is, and hopefully once ducklings hatch they will still work together. Keep us updated.

Yes, it is normal in a sense....Your LUCKY.....What great duck hens you have to want to raise ducklings together...

Precious and Congrats to you and mamas. Now be sure to watch they don't fight over the ducklings because that can injure or kill the tiny ones. Hopefully They will continue to be nice and work together.

I think they will share all duties as they have been....Just keep an eye on them as you have been...It will be great!
