Ducks shoe recommendations

Hi, I was recommended to get shoes for my duck because she has a foot issue and in the winter it would keep her feet warmer since it gets really cold where I live. Has anyone bought any duck shoes? were they warm or fleece inside? And where did you get them? I was looking at the party fowl pets’ duck shoes and they looked nice but it said it would take 2-3weeks to get.
Thanks, Alli

I got mine from party fowl, they are just neoprene. But I have heard that they are actually taking months to ship their orders. I don't know if that has changed.

I haven't bought shoes from crazyk, but I've purchased other things and they shipped quickly.

Make sure you measure your duck's feet and get the right size. Initially I just got the size recommended for my breed and they were so huge my duck was tripping on them. I ordered the size down and things were fine.

I also find that having more than one pair of shoes is very useful. That way you have a clean dry pair for when one is being washed and drying.

Finally, my duck was incredible at taking off the velcro at the top. So each time I wrapped a little vet wrap around it, and that solved the problem! You might need to do that, too.

If you are handy with a sewing machine or know someone who is, make some out of foam can coozies (sp?) my mother has made me several pair, the material is easy to come by and inexpensive, she puts full opening Velcro on it which you would appreciate if you had ever tried to stuff a duck foot into one that doesn’t open all the way.
This one could have been a bit smaller, it was made from the pekin pattern.

I’m okay with a sewing machine as long as the pattern isn’t too complicated. maybe I can try and find a pattern. Was it hard for your mother to make?
No, i can try to share her pattern with you, not sure how well that will work without scale, but should give you an idea. I will ask her to leave it out tomorrow, I work out of there so i should be able to get it in the morning.

Thank you for all the suggestions! Crazy K only had open toe shoes, idk if that would make any difference in how warm they are..?
I wouldn’t worry too much about warm, they are pretty resistant to cold, more important is dry. Mine don’t move around much in winter, i made them a large “nest” with straw, every time it snowed or if it got wet i piled more on top. So they had dry outside bedding. At the end of winter i had a round bale worth of decomposing straw filled with duck crap to put on the garden.

Edit: she sent it to me, says she just makes an appropriate size cuff that velcros shut, as i said before this is a Pekin size so you may want to adjust
