We have two of our grown ducks in 'rehab' hutches and both have eye injuries that I'm trying to treat. I always go natural first and have been using collodial silver on their eyes as it is one of the few natural things that doesn't sting or burn but is anti-biotic, healing, etc. Might add it to coconut oil and try that. Aloe vera as well. Would like suggestions on any other things that might help, preferably something that'll stay on the eye like an ointment.

Do you have any idea what is causing the problems ? Some drakes are notorious for grabbing the sides of a duck's head while mating. The only cure for this is elimination of that drake.

One injury is from mating. The inner lid has covered most of her eye. The other duck just got beat up by the other drakes. His eye is goopy but otherwise partially open.

Do NOT use coconut oil on their eyes. I accidentally got coconut oil in my eyes and it was a very painful lasting sting and that took forever to go away even with flushing my eyes with eye drops because of it being an oil. I know you want to go natural, but eye injuries if not treated properly and right away can lead to permanent blindness. Do you have any Terramycin on hand?
Also pictures would help along with how long ago were the injuries?

I will probably buy the Terramycin and keep it in my "Animal Medical Kit". I am surprised that coconut oil would burn. I use it a lot with my animals. Silver is the 'go-to' for use in the eyes and I have been doing that several times a day. I have a pix of female but will have to try and take on of the Pekin drake today.

Drake Pekin ... eye injured about a month ago.

Terramycin is good, and have also used Colloidal Silver many times... other than that I can't think of anything. Sorry not to bring more help. I hope they heal up soon!
