I have two questions.

1) I have a 9 week old rouen. And I'm not sure if they are male or female.

2) are mallards and rouens able to mate?

At that age, females will make quacks, while the males will make raspy peeps, or sound like a bad smoker.

Yes, Mallards and Rouen's can mate.

Thank you. Also they are still completely brown and no colouration in them at all shouldnt they have their drake colours yet?

At that age , Drakes may still loom like females, give it a few more weeks and you'll notice grey start to develop on the underbody and black/dark green start to overcome the head and neck.

Awesome. And one more thing. Will my female mallards ever accept my rouen. They currently run away from him and always force him away

I was just wondering if anyone could help me, so 2 nights ago I went to get my call ducks in and the female was just sitting in the pond, I had to pick her up to get her to go into the pen, yesterday she didn’t come out much and todays she’s shivering a lot and seems to be off balance when she walks, her feathers are also up. Does anyone know what’s wrong with her or what I can give her ? Thanks

Could you post a video or picture of her? For now keep her in a dog kennel placed in a warm dry area, with food/water provided.

I can get a video tomorrow, I’m going to move her in the morning into a dog kennel with her mate
