Yet another question. Would duckweed be a good supplement for my duck, Sunny?
As it's name implies, ducks love the stuff. But for a pet duck, would it be considered a treat? Or a secondary staple?
I have a small amount in some of my fish tanks, and only now did I think of using it for my duck.

A treat.

I read a study where up to 40% of a duck's diet could be safely comprised of duck weed. More than that and there were health problems. If you are giving duck weed along with free choice of their regular feed, I doubt there would be any problems.

My ducks LOVE duckweed. I have an escape artist who gets out of the run specifically to raid the pond where I have been trying to grow duck weed. She has wiped out the culture at least 3 times

How often should I feed it? The stuff grows like mad...so I would like a good way to put it to use.

Ah, that's what I was looking for. Thanks. She loves peas so far, but I havn't fed her duckweed.

If I were you I would just have a separate bowl and scoop some out of the pond every day. Like I said, as long as your duck still has access to the regular feed, she will take what ever wants and still get the proper nutrition.
